About the Retirees Group

Seattle’s AIAA Retiree group has been meeting for many years with a focus on socializing with other retirees who have an aviation background while also listening to presentations about aviation subjects. Those presentations tend to be technical in nature, consistent with those expected at an AIAA event, and are chosen to be historical, current, or on future subjects interesting to retirees. Typically, most attendees are retired from Boeing (since this is hosted in Seattle) but retirees from any other sector of aviation are welcome to participate. You do not need to be an AIAA member to attend. Aviation students are also encouraged to participate in order to rub shoulders with this collection of aviation retirees who have such vast experience.

We meet on the third Saturday morning of every odd-numbered month except July, typically at Seattle’s Museum of Flight but temporarily online-only until we can meet again as an in-person/online hybrid. Participation includes a charge for in-person meetings with a brunch. Notices of upcoming events are published in several locations and sent out directly to people choosing to be on our roster. Attendance is limited to those having RSVP’d.
