The Electric Propulsion Innovation Challenge (EPIC) is an engineering challenge designed for middle and high school students.
In this STEM project, students in grades 6-12 are challenged to design, build and fly an aircraft that will successfully carry out a specific task.
Each year PNW AIAA helps sponsor a Coaches Workshop, held annually in the summer, as a great way for new coaches to learn about the project and meet their support network to guide them through the process. It’s also a great opportunity for returning coaches to learn about the upcoming year’s game.
After the Coaches Workshop, teachers and coaches take the project back to their students and guide them through the process of designing, building and testing their airplanes.
Then, all teams are invited to compete in a Fly-Off to see which team’s design prevails!
