2017 Technical Symposium Final Program
The 2017 Pacific Northwest AIAA Technical Symposium “Pacific Northwest Aerospace Reaches for the Skies!” took place Saturday, November 18, 2017 at the Lynnwood Convention Center.
Our program featured a great diversity of presentations; titles and speakers are listed below. Just like previous years there were two speed mentoring sessions with mentors from around the industry, such as Boeing, Blue Origin, Mathworks and the University of Washington.
PANEL SESSION: COMMERCIAL SPACE TRAVEL
A discussion of commercial space travel, with the following panel members:
- Dr. Randii Wessen (NASA/JPL)
- Soyeon Yi (South Korea’s first astronaut)
- Marilyn Ferguson (Blue Origin)
- Paul Kostek (UW / CREST)
- Tentative: Dr. Rachelle Ornan-Stone (Boeing)
NEW THIS YEAR: STARTUP FAST-PITCH SESSION!
New this year was a session during which four aerospace startup companies from the Pacific Northwest pitched their company to a jury with “Formidable Ventures” owner Don Weidner and South Korea’s first astronaut Soyeon Yi in the panel!
