The flight performance needs of future aircraft and spacecraft will require the development of new materials and structures that must be validated and maintained using advances in the field of Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE). This talk will introduce state-of-the-art NDE within the field of aerospace and describe some of the biggest challenges the industry faces going into the future. Several interesting examples of research and development currently being done to face those challenges will be provided.
